Today is the day we get to link up at Leanne’s! Are you ready? I am! I have decided to take a slightly different approach to the FAL. The biggest reason is because I have watched y’all for a year – especially the final quarter of 2012. Many of you said….I wish I had linked up this project or that one! Well…here is my plan……..

I am going to keep an ongoing list of my projects! I know, I know! I have always done that —————————>over there in the bottom right hand corner. The funny thing is I found even more as I started photographing them so my list has grown. But this one is “official” and has both UFOs and ongoing monthly (eventual UFO) projects on it. Were you keeping count? I certainly was….there are 35 projects on the list total and 27 of them are “official” UFOs for the FAL….TWENTY-SEVEN……..O…….em………….gee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is not as many as some people…..but more than most!!!

And just for the record….I will update that list over there ———————————-> eventually……..as soon as some of the shock wears off!!! Only the officials will go over there. I will create another one for my monthlys **snickers**.

Well, y’all this took the better part of my Sunday. It was exhausting and required me to take breaks so I could make soup, watch movies, and bake cookies but more on that later! I need to get busy linking up with Leanne! I hope y’all are linking up too. Oh and did you notice I have a new page that will carry all the links for 2013. Ok, I am really logging off now…..

  1. Wow, I am tired just reading that list. But there will be some excellent quilts and things when you finish some of the. I especially love the red one. Also, silk thread should not normally be a problem, I would test a piece of Black Monkey before you start taking out and doing over, I think maybe you just had a bad spool on the one quilt. Silk is the strongest natural fibre and normally is wonderful.

I am so glad you get to be finishing in the finish along this quarter!

  2. Way too many there for me- I would go hide in a hole if I listed all mine so I keep my list to 10. I admire you for being able to do it.

  3. Well sheesh, isn’t listing EVERYTHING cheating? 😉 Or at least embarrassing! I made a spreadsheet and stopped when I hit 45 because I don’t want 50. Known, at least.

  4. Couldn’t help but notice your frustration with the silk thread thingee……do you know about Superior Threads? They are the BEST and can educate you on any kind of thread for your projects. You can check out their website or just call. I don’t use anything else!

  5. I couldn’t cope with a list like this! I’d have to split it up over the year! No wonder you were exhausted. Good luck – you’ll need it!

  6. I’m laughing too hard to comment properly! For goodness sake woman, no more new projects for you for just about forever!!!!!!!!!

  7. Like I told a certain person who has way more projects than you, I am NOT counting them all, you’d be embarrassed for me! Think I’m going to be realistic on what I can achieve in a quarter! Might have to start a list for the studio though, my eyes only LOL!

  8. I would get too overwhelmed if I listed all my UFO’s :-) I don’t have too many quilting ones but loads of cross stitch UFO’s lurking all over the house! Good luck :-)

  9. Hmmmm, that’s a lot of quilting to do! Should be great fun to get them all completed though: good luck!

  10. No matter how long the list is, it’s all about picking one and staying comiitted to getting through that. THAT’S the hard part (at least for me)!

Re: problems with the silk thread–do you hand stitch your binding or do it by machine? And are you using the silk for its fineness? I read a number of reviews today for Invisifil by Wonderfil. It’s a polyester thread (so strong but not unbreakable) that is said to be very fine and as invisible as monofilament but comes in colors like regular thread and much cheaper in price than silk. I plan to check it out myself for applique and machine quilting. Also Aurifil is a good fine weight thread if you want to stay with natural fibers (cotton).

  11. Rhonda, I am seriously hyperventilating looking through your list!!!!!!! Yikes! I got several &$*% comments about my ‘longish’ list of wips on W.i.P. Wednesday so I am NOT going to do that to you for sure! I know how much these wips mean to each of us, and I am just going to wish you the calmness, organization, time, and desire to move along down your list. Go for it!

  12. Your spreadsheet is a brilliant idea! I might just have to borrow it….(not that I have that much on it, but I’m doing the 2012 Craftsy BOM with a friend this year and am also tempted to join the Sugar Block club, and the Bee in My Bonnet row along….)
